She is a biologist and plant breeder with extensive experience in on-farm agrobiodiversity management, organic seed systems, and value chain development for neglected and underutilized crops. She serves as a deputy board member and international representative of KVANN – Norwegian Seed Savers and has been actively involved in science-policy dialogues at both national and EU levels.
Fehér played a key role in establishing the Hungarian Organic Multi-Actor Seed Expert Group and has contributed to several European research projects supporting cultivated biodiversity, including Farmers’ Pride, DIVERSIFOOD, DIVINFOOD, and LIVESEEDING. Her work has focused on participatory organic cultivar trials, strengthening on-farm agrobiodiversity management, and integrating biodiversity into food systems.
She has contributed to EU legislative processes, including as a fee-paid expert for the European Committee of the Regions. She has worked on policy frameworks affecting seed systems, plant genetic resources, and organic agriculture, advocating for farmers’ rights and the recognition of diverse seed networks.
She is a member of the European Consortium for Organic Plant Breeding (ECO-PB) and the IFOAM Organics Europe Working Group on Seeds, promoting resilient seed systems.
